True Nature Food Company (“we”, “us”) makes and sells frozen vegan meals from Cape Town. This policy explains what personal information we collect through www.truenature.co.za, why, and your rights under South Africa’s Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA).
What we collect
- When you order: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, plus what you ordered and when.
- If you create an account: your login details and order history.
- When you contact us by phone, WhatsApp or email: your message and contact details.
- When you browse the site: basic usage information (such as pages visited, device and browser type, and approximate location) collected through cookies, as described below.
We do not collect or store your card details. Payments are processed by Payfast, and card and bank details go directly to them.
How we use it
- To process, prepare and deliver your order, and to contact you about it.
- To help if something goes wrong with an order, including our Taste Guarantee.
- To keep financial records we are legally required to keep.
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it.
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not send you marketing messages unless you have asked us to.
Who we share it with
Only what is needed, with:
- Payfast, to process your payment.
- Our delivery drivers or courier, who need your name, address and phone number to deliver your order.
- Our website hosting provider, which stores the site and its order records.
- Google, through Google Analytics (website usage statistics) and a reviews widget that displays our Google reviews.
- Authorities, if the law requires it.
Cookies
Our site uses cookies that are needed for it to work, for example to remember what is in your basket and to keep you logged in. We also use Google Analytics cookies to count visits and see which pages are popular. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the shop may not work properly without the essential ones.
How long we keep it
We keep order and payment records for as long as the law requires for tax and accounting purposes (generally five years), and other information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above.
Keeping it safe
The website uses a secure (HTTPS) connection, access to order information is limited to people who need it, and payments are handled by Payfast rather than stored on our site.
Your rights
You may ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us using it. Contact us using the details below and we will respond as soon as reasonably possible. If you are not satisfied with our response, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa (inforegulator.org.za).
